Author of informative and imaginative books for children
Molly Blaisdell is a dash of fun, mixed in with some smart cookie and a splash of capable. She was born in Houston, Texas, the second daughter of Jack Cook Barlow, a plumber, and Lera Lee Kelly Barlow, a horitculturist, artist, and writer. Molly spent her childhood playing makebelieve with her two sisters, growing Louisana irises, and taking many car trips to visit family in Mississippi and California.
Molly is an avid Trekkie and started her first fan fiction group in junior high way before there were interwebs. She spent her teen years in Waller, Texas and became involved in drama, speech and Greenpeace. She also worked as a plumber's helper and made frequent trips to New Orleans, enjoying the French Quarter jazz and Cajun cooking. She graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Chemistry.
She's a native Texan, mom of four children, and currently lives under the wide open skies of College Station with her husband Tim.
Molly inspires writers with her weekly blog, Seize the Day at mollyblaisdell.blogspot.com
Need a short bio? Need a longer one? More buttoned up? Choices!
I am always trying to learn new things. I wake up each day with the hope that today I will be a better person than I was yesterday. That is my daily goal.
I believe success breeds success. So always think about what you have done, not what you haven't. Everything you do now is an investment in what you will do in the future.
If I had a time machine and could go back into the past and tell myself two things --
1. Enjoy life more.
2. Take many more risks.
I love to bring order out of chaos. It's just the jazziest feeling.
I think you should always take time to nap.
I think that friends are precious, better than gold.
And last, you can always change no matter what anyone tells you.
